Getting my life together. This is what that looks like. Remember last week when I was supposed to organize my suitcases? Well that’s what I’m doing today. And it WILL get done today!

I am trying to leave a bag in NYC for the month between my vacations/the time before I go to Toronto. I am also trying to ship a lot of stuff home that I don’t need with me anymore. There’s a lot of tour-life logistics involved in these packing situations (weight, weather, etc.), that I don’t feel like getting into right now. Then when I am in Toronto for 10 weeks I will have all my stuff with me again.

A very exciting Tuesday, if you ask me. What’s your Tuesday looking like?

I am starting a new blog feature, aptly titled Things That Make Me Itch. In our first installment, we have The God Warrior. Contrary to her name, this woman is the devil in disguise. I’m not kidding. I am shocked that fire didn’t shoot out from the top of her head. I’m more surprised that she doesn’t shit herself from all the screaming. Sometimes I can’t believe that people like this actually exist in the world. I fear for the husband and the three girls that have to live with this woman everyday. Ugh, they make me itch. I’m gonna pray for them. Btw, Candis Cayne does a fierce God Warrior.

You know, it’s true what they say - you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone. The 24 hours I had to spend without Magdelena, I was a hot mess. I didn’t know how to function without a computer, which is quite sad when you think about it. I mean, I do live on the road though, so she is my main means of communication with the outside world. I was so scared that everything on my computer would be lost forever. I luckily have a external that I back everything up on, but you can never be too sure how those things are going to work out. Oh, technology.

When I was sitting at the Genius Bar today, wish my fingers crossed, I couldn’t believe how serious I was about my computer working. It baffled me that I put so much weight on something. Don’t get me wrong - I am all about technology and think that it’s amazing, and I definitely couldn’t live without it, but I think I need to calm down a little when it comes to gadgets. I was looking at Apple TV, the Time Capsule, etc. - other random things and I wanted them all! I’m sure when I move back to NYC and get my apartment I will eventually be the owner of all these fun toys, but I need to not put so much weight on them. They are, after all, toys.

Maybe I need to go read Brave New World.

Ahh, Messy Megan! Who am I becoming?! I need my mother here right now! When I was younger my parents would not allow ANY mess on the floor of our rooms. Period. It was absolutely not allowed, and because of it I kind of became a neat freak by default. (I would actually just leave all the mess on my top bunk. Yes, I had a bunk bed!) So I’m still kind of a neat freak, but then this happens sometimes. I just have those weeks on tour where I don’t want to clean anything. Luckily my roommate is also having a messy week, so I don’t feel bad about it.

The problem is, I won’t get around to cleaning this up before we move to the next city. I just know it. Instead of cleaning and organizing (getting rid of crap) I am just going to pack it all up and move it to the next town. I just feel like I always have stuff on me that I don’t need, but I never get around to getting rid of any of it or sending it home. That is why I can’t wait until Toronto! We’re gonna be there for 10 weeks - so I don’t have to worry about packing and unpacking every week! I can have all my stuff with me and I can’t make as much of a mess as I want! :)
