When the hell is it gonna get warm in Chicago? This is becoming ridiculous. It’s almost May and it was snowing this past weekend. I don’t have a damn spring jacket because I haven’t put away my winter coat yet. I’m tired of hearing about how nice the spring/summer will be. This winter has been the absolute longest and I don’t have the time to humor it anymore. NEXT.
I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that Chicago is much more spread out than NYC. I didn’t want to accept that when we first got here. I really wanted to just wander and walk around to each neighborhood. That can’t happen. I think I’m finally at peace with it. AND if the weather was nicer I’d be getting out much more (I keep saying/telling myself). Friends back home are always like, “have you been doing a lot in Chicago?”, and honestly I haven’t. If it’s cold and windy and snowing I am not leaving the apartment. I have no desire. Period.
I’m moving apartments at the top of next week. Hopefully a change of scenery will help motivate and inspire me to do more. I’ve been feeling very stagnant lately. And I’m speaking solely of outside of work. I’m talking about the other 21 hours of the day. There are things I wanna do here (and in life in general) and I haven’t done any of them yet. I need a swift kick in the ass. Really.
In other news: I’m well on my way to paying off my student loans, which makes me very happy! Everyday is a step in the right direction. I’ll have to treat myself to something delicious when it’s all done.
